Knit history: I was first taught to knit at the age of about 9 by my Grandma, who still continues to knit now. As most knitters begin, my first project was a scarf which had about a million dropped stitches and holes in it, but I was very proud of it. I was only just brave enough to take up my DPNs and make my first pair of socks earlier this year (2009) and I love them. I was too late to register for Sock Wars so instead have opted for Glove Wars, which begins September 4th. I’m a little apprehensive and know I’ll probably be knocked out by my first opponent but nevermind! it’s the taking part right? I’m actually in the middle of my first design now, it’s only a scarf but hopefully it will lead to greater things, culminating in getting a pattern printed in Knitty or another knitting magazine. I’ve also just got the knack of crochet and am starting a special project for that, and hopefully will attempt amigurumi later in the year!
